Simone currently lives in San Francisco, where she has resided since she was 19 years old. She was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil and displayed a natural talent for art from the age of seven. One of the artists that inspires her is Frida Kahlo, the well known Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Simone also finds inspiration from Joseph Cornell, the American artist and sculptor, one of the pioneers and most celebrated exponents of assemblage. 

 

Simone is an artist who loves to work with recycled material. She uses a variety of recycled material and bright, vibrant colors in her Inspiration Crosses and her Hand made Bags. To quote the artist, "My artwork is a very organic style. By using different media, bright and exciting colors and also incorporating natural items like wood, beads and fabrics I believe it gives lots of energy." She wants everyone to see in her work a celebration of life.
